📢 China publishes new GB 4806.10-2025 for food contact coatings

China has released the new GB 4806.10-2025 – Food Contact Coatings and Coating Layers, introducing major updates to requirements, positive lists and migration testing for coatings intended to come into contact with food.
📌 Key updates in the new GB:
- Expanded scope: Coatings applied to paper and paperboard are now included and must also comply with GB 9685 and GB 4806.8-2022.
- Extended positive list: Expanded from 105 to 358 polymers, monomers and base substances, including more than 60 new non-polymeric raw materials.
- Updated migration testing: Alignment with the GB 31604 test series and new PAA limit set to not detectable (LOD 0.01 mg/kg).
- Regulatory consolidation: Replaces GB 4806.10-2016 and incorporates all NHC/SAMR announcements issued from 2014 to 2023.
