Environmental labeling of packaging has become a key topic both in Italy and internationally.Since January 1, 2023, Italy has made environmental labeling mandatory for all packaging, as required by Legislative Decree 116/2020. At the European level, the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), effective February 11, 2025, introduces harmonized labeling, including digital pictograms and QR codes, with full recyclability requirements by 2030.
